Should you sell your Austin home this winter?
Winter sales in Austin aren’t bad at all. You will always have less competition in the winter, which actually gives you an advantage when selling your home.
Redfin recently released some statistics that show houses have a 9% better chance of selling in the winter. Homes also sell for 1.2% more and a week faster than the average for the rest of the year. Ultimately, winter is not a bad time at all to sell.
“Houses have a 9% better chance of selling in the winter.”
Traditionally, the spring market probably gives you the best chance at selling for the highest price of the year. April, May, and June are great months to sell your home, but so is the winter.
If you are thinking about selling or need to sell now, it doesn’t make sense to hold on and make mortgage payments if you want to sell in the wintertime.
If you have any other questions about selling in the winter market, just give me a call or send me an email. I would be happy to help you.
In the meantime, I want to wish you all a merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and a happy New Year. Stay tuned for more information about our next client party.
